Author: Aon the Artist

In todays Tunecrush Interview we will be featuring one of Kentucky’s up and coming female artists named Symmone. She is just coming off a win with her last month release called “Pillows” which was her debut single. We now will be learning more about the rising singer and what she has coming up.

Hi Symmone! How are you?

I’m well, just working on a lot lately.

Where are you from?

I’m from Louisville, KY.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

Hmm, I’ll definitely say people inspire me to write more than anything.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

I’ll give you three genres I pull from: vocal jazz, neosoul, psychedelic music.

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

I have an unreleased song about the injustice that we as black people have faced throughout our time here. I took from older jazz artist like Billie Holiday to fully depict our pain throughout the years. While working on that song I could feel the pain of our people. It was a heavy, emotional and cathartic process for sure.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

You have to be fearless and ten toes down in who you are. As a new artist it’s definitely a been process thats helped me evolve into a better version of myself.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Yeah, I’ll be releasing an EP in the new year so you can be looking out for that on all the streaming platforms.
