In today’s interview we will be featuring a Detroit native named ATEE who has recently come on to the scene as a new rapper. Known for his real rap, ATEE has been setting the bar for what it means to bring meaning behind music. Just starting his rap career a few months ago, we caught up with the real rapper and his interview can be seen below.

Hi ATEE! How are you?

Good! Just trying to figure things out with this music and figuring out my next move! That’s all!

Where are you from?

I was born in Kirkland, Washington and lived in the Seattle area until I was eight years old.I moved to Troy, Michigan and lived there for four years. Then moved to the greater Detroit area to a small suburb on the east side called Roseville. I moved back to Seattle so when I was 21 and been here for seven years. Hope that answered your question.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

Eminem is what really got me into hip hop but Tupac inspired me and gave me a lot of hope growing up. His music helped me through a lot of problems I had as a kid.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Authentic, Raw, and Honest!

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

The hardest subject I ever written about was writing about my personal life because I’m really a person that sticks to himself, and it’s challenging to be revealing to who I am.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

The marketing!

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Yes! I have a new project called “Glitch” coming out on Black Friday November, 27
